Built in the year 1577 as inn and relay post, the Langenbruck «Bären» is one of the oldest inns in up-country Basel. In its changing functions as post stage, relay station for horses and «Relais gastronomique», the house passed through various historical phases.

The Bären was bought by Heinrich Grieder-Kunz in the year 1898 and has remained in the Grieder family ever since.

Today the third and fourth generation of the family are happy to be able to welcome you here.
